Belief: I believe an opportunity exists here it is evident that self-driving cars are a thing of the future. It is also clear that there is a way to make the cars safer for humankind after some fatal crashes, and that is where the main opportunity that exists.
Customer: A prototypical customer to create the opportunity is an automobile company. As far as who buys the opportunity it could be anyone who either does not want to drive a car or who maybe is not capable of driving a car. Or just someone who wants the highest and newest technology.
Exploit: This opportunity is very easy to exploit because the idea has already started to come to fruition with many companies beginning to experiment with the technology
See: I think my experiences as a driver is what makes me see this opportunity. Clearly, I am not the only one that sees. But I vs someone either younger or older who has yet to drive or who have stopped driving would have different viewpoints.
Opportunity 2-Economic

Belief: There is an opportunity to even out the playing field in the income gap within the US. I know this exists because there has been constant talk about the issue in recent years.
Customer: Anyone really in the US that is making an income, but specifically lower/ middle-income people.
Exploit: This is fairly difficult to exploit because it takes a lot of regulations and different policies to have the evening out become a reality.
See: I think everyone will see this differently than others because no one is from the exact same economic status or level. For me, I come from a middle-class background so I am more fortunate than others but would obviously still like it to be a fair race for all people.
Opportunity 3-Regulatory

Belief: I think an opportunity exists here because President is saying he is going to make some sort of change, in this specific case it has to do with imposing tariffs on imported goods from China. When there is a change to be had I believe an opportunity exists.
Customer: a typical customer would be the US govt and any other countries that try to send goods to the US when tariffs are imposed
Exploit: I don't think it would be very easy to exploit this because it is dependent on the current economic climate and the politics of the world.
See: I saw this opportunity because I think it is fairly obvious. I think anyone else would have the same idea. There is nothing that is special to me or my experiences that would make me see this specific opportunity differently I feel.
Opportunity 4-Regulatory
Link: https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/7671-regulatory-issues-changes.html
Belief: There are opportunities and need for more paid time off when it comes to parental leave.
Customer: Anyone who works is a potential customer for this change.
Exploit: I think it will be difficult to exploit this but if it is signed into a law or a bill then it will be easy.
See: I saw this opportunity because I have family who had to borrow other employees PTO when they had a baby because 12 weeks was not enough time after a baby was born, and I think it is important for parents to spend time with their child while also being able to stay afloat financially.
Hi Rebeca,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your post. I think you did a great job of explaining each opportunity. I really like how all of your sources were very different from each other. I also really like how you were able to tie in your personal experiences/ preferences when seeing these opportunities. I also tried to relate to my sources too. My only suggestion would be to explain what the sources were talking about just a little more. I think that would help the readers understand the opportunities better. Overall though, I think you did a really great job and liked the opportunities you found.
Howdy Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteFirst let me start by saying I really enjoyed reading your post because you did a great job of explaining the opportunities some of which I did not even really notice until you said them. The one that stuck out to me the most had to have been opportunity number one out of the four. This one stuck out to me because I am really interested in seeing the different ways that we are going to use technology as society to move forward into the future. My only issue I had with your reasoning was that you said it would be easy to exploit. I think the average person probably does not have the capital to afford this technology therefore only really the elite could actually use it. Other than that I thought this was really well done!
Hi Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this assignment! In loved your thoughtful choices of regulatory and economic trends. Specifically, I thought your identification of parental leave and its implications was really well done. This wouldn’t have been something I thought of in doing the assignment, but it is so important and such a space of opportunity right now. I also liked you points on the income gap as it is such a hot topic that has lot of opportunity as well. My only main criticism for this post it that I had to actually work to figure out what each topic was. You never explicitly say new trade measures with china, you just provide a link. Otherwise, great post!
Hello Rebeca, what a great job identifying the income gap. This is a hot issue that could really become a lucrative adventure, and I agree with you that exploiting it will be fairly difficult. It will take just the right idea make this opportunity come to fruition, but if you can garner support of the unions, it will take off like a rocket!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was an awesome point that you made that there is an opportunity in evening out the income gap in America. That is obviously such a big problem in todays world and I really do see opportunity for this happening in the future, although like you said there are a lot of regulations and different policies that must be changed for this to happen.
